A singular piece of art stands outside the Mission Street Gold Line
station in South Pasadena: The Walking Man.
 |
The Walking
Man is an apt sculpture for this location
because Mission Street is definitely a walking and
eating and shopping
street. |
The immediate area has several
restaurants worth mentioning. They are all locally owned--no
chain restaurants around here. Many seem to be busiest for
breakfast or brunch, especially on the weekends.
 |
For early
morning coffee and a time trip back to the 1970s, stop at
Busters right across from the station.
Kaldi, another coffee
house, is located one block south on El Centro across
from the South Pasadena Public Library. |
 |
The Bistro
de la Gare is around the corner from the Mission Station on El
Centro.
|
About a half a block away you
will find the Firefly Bistro, also located on El Centro.
 |
You may not
notice it at first but the dining room at the Firefly
Bistro is a tent extending
over a large old patio. It's a lovely place for a
romantic dinner. |
As for art in a formal sense,
you will find more of it in Pasadena than in South
Pasadena.
