California poppies facing skyward make the East Los Angeles Civic Center Gold Line station an amazing sight to see.  And they are just an introduction to the  bold art and design at and around the Civic Center. 

Stripes of colored tiles wrap around the Roybal Health Center just across the street from this Gold Line station.

Hand-crafted tiles and ironwork are the predominant mediums used in the many art works around the East L.A. Civic Center and adjacent park and lake.  We have included only some on this page.  There are many more.

This is one of a pair of tile-covered towers that mark the entrance to the Civic Center park.  Tiles by this artist are embedded in sidewalks around the Civic Center -- and at the Heritage Square Gold Line station.

The fish fountain in the middle of the lake at the East L.A. Civic Center. Water spraying up from the lake creates a rainbow.

The food at this station is food for the eyes and food for the art-loving soul. Not much around as far as restaurants go, so either head east to the Atlantic station or back towards downtown Los Angeles if you are looking for "eats".
